WHAT ARE HERBAL TINCTURES ?

Herbal tinctures are concentrated extracts made by soaking plant parts in a combination of alcohol and water. The alcohol extracts the active properties from the plants, including alkaloids, vitamins, and minerals. After the extraction process, the liquid is separated from the herbs and filtered. The remaining liquid is the tincture, which can be stored for several years due to alcohol's preservative properties. Tinctures are advantageous because they are easily absorbed by the body and bypass the need to digest whole herbs.

WHY PLANTS IN TINCTURES ?

Alcohol has been used as a solvent in herbal tinctures for centuries. It remains popular today for its fast-acting properties, its potency, and its ability to preserve the shelf-life of tinctures. Given that only a very small amount of alcohol is consumed when we use herbal tincture, it remains a very safe and effective way of delivering our favourite herbal remedies.

GENERAL ADVISE BEFORE USING OUR TINCTURES:

  • Gently shake the tincture before use. A ring of residue might be present on the dropper, which is normal and doesn't affect the product's quality.

  • Always consult a healthcare professional before using for medicinal purposes.
